We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer for our Chicago or Granger office. The position is for an
entrepreneurial-minded, qualified, and knowledgeable professional who seeks a fast-paced and challenging work
environment, an opportunity to grow, and a desire for autonomy. Our mission is to provide clients with very high
quality, pragmatic, and customer-focused service.
Develop appropriate scope of work, manage and perform field work for geotechnical and geologic
explorations in support of work for public and private clients
Analyze data collected for geotechnical and geologic studies including research, review of test results,
technical analysis, modeling, and development of design recommendations
Manage technical support staff, subcontractors and subconsultants
Evaluate soil samples and soil dynamics to include subsurface analysis and pile capacity
Test soils or materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt or steel.
Partner with technical and field team members in complicated situations and synthesize into manageable
Participate in professional organizations to promote the professionalism and integrity of the company.
Initiate and review specific improvements to designs, systems, methods, procedures or applications, as
they apply to geotechnical consulting operations
Monitor and maintain a working knowledge of recent developments in geotechnical engineering
technology, techniques, and procedures
Maintain key client relationships for projects in multiple offices.
Participate in the training and mentoring of technical and operational staff.
Communicate effectively with team members and clients both in oral and written techniques.
Demonstrate organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and specific timelines.
Prepare geotechnical reports and meet established deadlines. .
Be able to work both in the office and in field on projects as needed to include construction and landfill
Prepare efficient proposals and cost estimates as needed.
BS or MS (preferred) degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
Experienced knowledge of geotechnical engineering
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience
Intermediate knowledge in AutoCAD
Proficient Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Professional License is a plus
Ability to travel 25%
